Our love of the Australian Shepherd came about in 2009 when Andrew and I were looking for another dog to add to our family, and after deciding on wanting a medium sized dog, looked at the Aussie due to its versatility, and striking looks. We ended up with our lovely boy Sparky (Comeby Smoke and Water) from Suzanne and Glenn Cunningham from Comeby Kennels.
When Sparky was about 9 months old, we decided we couldn’t stop at the one Aussie, so were looking for another to add to our family. This time, we chose to look for a prospective show puppy to give conformation showing a go. Due to falling in love with a beautiful red merle bitch – Holly we decided to contact her breeder who was planning a mating from Hollys mum. Fast forward a few months, and we got our gorgeous little redhead, Peach (Ch Tuscamada Peaches N Cream). A huge thank you to Linda Matthews of Tuscamada Kennels for allowing such a beautiful dog to come and be our first showdog, as well as the foundation for our kennel.
After a couple of years showing and learning about this fantastic breed, we decided the next step would be to attain our breeders prefix and look at breeding Peach. Wanting to find a kennel name that came from either Sparky or Peaches name was difficult, but we were lucky enough to obtain our prefix “Gemelo” which means ‘twin’ in Spanish. Holly’s owner Lyndsay Smith and I often joke that Holly and Peach are ‘twinnies’, hence the name!
We have since added Gossip to the pack, as well as Peach’s daughter Dime, and our own ‘two legged’ additions, our son Edison, and our daughter Lila who love the dogs just as much as we do!
We hope you enjoy looking through our site and our beautiful Australian Shepherds. Please feel free to check back anytime!
